And it’s not just about helping us, the homemakers. When our homes run with some recognizable pattern, children feel the current of that too. These small consistencies—laundry on Tuesdays, yardwork on Wednesdays, breakfast cleaned up before the day begins—create a quiet sense of what to expect.
