Peering Ahead: 2024 Form, Function, and Feel

Greetings, dear readers! Wishing you all a splendid New Year. I hope the holiday season brought joy and warmth to your homes. As we step into 2024, I'd like to share a brief update on my absence in December and provide a glimpse into the upcoming projects for our affordable home design journey.

In December, unforeseen health challenges prompted a temporary hiatus, during which I prioritized well-being during the first half of the month and then embraced the festive season with loved ones. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.

Looking ahead to 2024, I'm excited to share with you my upcoming projects:

• WiFi: Firstly, addressing a crucial aspect of our daily lives, the improvement of our internet connectivity in rural West Virginia is a top priority! We are currently upgrading our home WiFi to have wired extenders in three different zones of the house so calls will not drop and to cut down on buffering times when we are streaming our favorite shows. This will be a significant quality-of-life improvement for us!

• Living Room: Turning our attention to the aesthetics, the living room, stuck in the 70s, is set for a transformation. A modern and cozy look awaits, with changes spanning walls, trim, light fixtures, and even a captivating mural to breathe new life into the space.

• Foyer & Foyer Closet: In the foyer, a traditional double-sliding door closet will undergo a functional metamorphosis, becoming a more accessible reach-in closet with designated storage for shoes, coats, and a welcoming bench.

• Dining Room: The dining room, while generously sized, is due for a makeover. A fresh coat of paint, a new chandelier, sconces, and unique touches will inject character into this plain space, creating a dining area that resonates with personality and style.

• Hallway: Time and budget permitting, the hallway will receive a facelift with a fresh coat of paint, improved lighting, and the installation of a smart thermostat. These enhancements aim to elevate the overall ambiance of our home.

I am genuinely excited to share the progress and transformations as these projects unfold throughout the year. Your continued support and enthusiasm make this journey all the more rewarding.
